The Gods Of War By Heidi (PTLKC)
Everyone knows how much Lupes and Chias hate each other, but only two remember why. They are the Chia war god Taptlakettle and the Lupe war god Duglareous. After all, it is kind of hard to forget the day of your creation. Lupes and Chias once lived together in peace, in fact they were even good friends. There was absolutely no animosity between the two groups. This was centuries ago when neither group could imagine hating the other.
Everything changed between the Lupes and Chias when the biggest war Neopia ever saw broke out. The Lupes and Chias fought against each other, making most of Neopia a war zone. None of the other creatures joined in this fight, instead they fled into deep hiding. The saddest part was what the war was about. It started with two competitive youngsters, one Chia and one Lupe, fighting over which race was better.
They both went to their elders to find out the answer. The Lupe elders said that Lupes were superior, for they were bigger, stronger and faster. The Chia elders knew that Chias were better, they were smarter, nicer and there were more of them. Over this small difference of opinion, and each race's arrogance, the great war began. On the first day of the war, each group prayed to the sky for a great leader to drive them into battle and into glorious victory. Mystical forces from above sent each group what they asked for.The Chias received their war god Tapatlakettle and the Lupes received their own war god Duglareous.
Tapatlakettle and Duglareous led the heavy war that lasted many years. Two years into the war, the Lupes and Chias had already forgotten the reason they were fighting. Five years into the war, both groups had suffered great loses. They were too far into the battle to stop now. After eight long years of fighting, both species were nearly extinct. The battles became few and far between, with both groups lacking the strength and spirit to go on. They finally had to end it, before they were all gone.
Each went to their region of Neopia to repopulate. Over the centuries, both groups forgot the war. Not wanting to remember, they did not speak a word of it to their children. The only thing they did not, could not, forget was the hate. To this day Lupes hunt Chias, killing them is a large part of most Lupes' lives. The smart little Chias spend their days trying to escape Lupes, if they are unfortunate enough to be tracked. So the war has ended, but the fighting has only just begun.
