The strange and twisted dreams by WyndChymz
It is dreadfully hot here. I can see the heat waves seeping through the rock floors….I feel as if I cannot go on. I look up and see great slabs of rock surrounding me on all sides. One word flows through my head, trapped. Trapped like a rat. I crawl towards the magnificent sandstone walls and lay a paw on them, looking helplessly about. The red and orange walls of my cage seem as if the extend high into the heavens, touching the clouds and all objects beyond them. I look up and see birds flying freely about, unlike me, stuck in this inescapable place. I lay down my head, trying to maneuver into a comfortable position; it seems as though I may be stuck her for an eternity. As I gaze around the walls I feel a hot tear drop down my cheek. Will I ever escape this place? Will I ever see any familiar face again? Has my life come to its end? Finally, the tears come to my eyes and I start to cry my heart out.
I sit on the hard rock floor sobbing, and I suddenly hear a thumping sound. I ignore it at first, but it suddenly becomes impossible to ignore. I look up with glazed eyes and a tearstained face, and see a dark passage ahead of me. I stand up and gaze at this door, not believing what I see. I take one footstep towards it, then another, then I find myself running as fast as I can. Right as I reach the doorway, I slip and fall. I lay there, still and lifeless. I lift one paw to try to pick myself up, but it feels as if my legs are useless to me now. I lay there, my mind racing. Then, I pass out.
I awake to find myself in a very loud place. I hear leaves rustling, birds screeching, and an occasional roar. All these noises intermix in my ears and create pain, pain that cannot be avoided. I try to stand, I am still stiff and lame. I manage to pull myself into an upright-position, and sit there, noting my surroundings. The lush green trees tower high above my head, reminding me of my horrible imprisonment. I watch a sleek macaw fly above my head, and hear the distant trickling of water. The slippery mud that I sit on reminds me of the delicious chocolates I used to eat….all seems far away from me now. Then I loose my balance and slip, landing face first in the mud. I sit up, aware of some being present nearby. I look to my left, then my right, then gaze up at the sky.
The leaves rustle in front of me….I hear a faint giggle. A small red aisha appears before me. She is obviously very young, perhaps about 20 hours old. This small aisha stands in front of me, gazing into my eyes. She takes a step towards me and asked sweetly, Hello, what’s your name? I reply with the same sweetness in my tone of voice. Excuse me, but what is your name? I reply yet again, but it seems as though she cannot hear me. Fine! Be that way! She was very upset, I could tell. There was something very familiar about that small aisha, but I couldn’t piece together what it was; Was it the glow in her eyes? Her undying courage? The soft, welcoming words she spoke? I couldn’t figure it out now, I had too much on my mind. I hadn’t realized it until now, but I was racing after this tiny aisha.
Somehow, I managed to muster up enough energy to keep up with her. I leaped over all obstacles in my way, concentrating only on that tiny aisha. The trees passed me in a giant blur and the brilliantly colored flowers just added to that effect. My legs pounded with pain, but I kept going. The small aisha unexpectedly took a sharp turn into a grotto of trees, but I was still close behind. I was running into a vibrant light, which kept growing bigger and brighter by every step. The small aisha glowed in splendid shades of deep reds and bright purples because of this splendid light. I squinted, trying to peer past the brightness. I eventually reached the light, still running as fast as I could, but then I stopped, my paws grinding on the dirt pavement. A cloud of dust surrounds me, although I can still see the colors of a fabulous sunset shine brightly through the dust.
As it clears, I stare, wide-eyed down a cliff. I immediately think of the tiny aisha. My heart pounded. Suddenly I a horrible feeling flooded through my body. Did she fall down the cliff? Is she safe from harm? If she fell down the cliff, is it because of me? I frantically look around, hoping to catch the glimpse of anything pink. Suddenly I see the small aisha walking towards me, still out of breath. I take a deep sigh of relief. Would you like to watch the sunset with me? I reply that I’d love to. As we sit down to watch the sunset, I feel happy and satisfied. I wake up in my bed and look around. Ewwwww, the sheets are wet. I suddenly burst out laughing, forgetting about the horrible dream I had….
