Okay, I personally love dragons (skeiths, cerpulls, etc.) But don’t they seem the perfect enemy? Also, Part one says that Chias are stupid, but the other parts say different. I tend to be a long writer, but this isn’t too long for me. Please don’t be offended by anything, if you are, then don’t read it! There are some twists, so there’s nothing much to be offended about in the end. If it’s too gruesome – sorry! That’s what war is about!

No More Laughing - A Neopian war story

PROLOGUE

Every night, Chias young and old will gather around the fire to listen to the old ones tell stories about when Neopia was peaceful, all creatures were friends and living in harmony. When a faerie was a common sight, when you could take a walk without checking behind every tree, looking around every corner. To the young ones, it was like a dream. For they had been brought up to do those things, as not to get hurt or killed by enemy troops that could be anywhere. Naras, a young red chia always listened in awe at these tales, for he wished oh so much that even for one day he could experience that dream. –

PART ONE, CHAPTER ONE – PERSUSION

"Oh, come on Calibre, it’ll be fun!" The young blue polypup shook his head. "No way, no how, no where and no… Err, what’s the other one?" His brothers burst out laughing. "If you don’t know how to refuse, then COME ON!" Calibre growled threateningly and turned away. "That’s not fun, it’s dangerous! Mom would have our ears!" "But how’s mom gonna find out? We’ve been planning this for MONTHS! We just need ONE more neopet – I swear! I can’t think of ANY risk! Come on, what are you, a chia?" Insulted his older brother, Pielmis. "NO! Go find one of your little friends to do it, and to let you two know, I am NOT a chia! I can fight and defend myself, and I'm smart, unlike you chias!" His other brother, Riccolia snorted. "Fine. But I’d like to see you turn away when we stop the war and become heroes. Come on, Piel, we have work to do." And they left.

Calibre sighed and thought over what had just happened. What, were they crazy? Going secretly into enemy camp to try and kill their captain? He didn’t feel sad, he knew they would come back after a day of traveling. He sighed again and walked slowly back to the hut his family shared, confused still about this stupid war.

"So anyway, mom, Riccolia and I are going to go on a camping trip, and yes, it’s within sight of the house. Heck, you can just send Calibre out everyday to check on us, if you’re worried (at this moment, Piel walked over and trod heavily on Calibre’s foot). Right Calibre?" He nodded meekly. "See? Everything’s all set! We’ll bring our body amour, too, just in case." Their mother frowned and then nodded. "Alright. How long, though?" Calibre noticed with a grin that Piel froze, but fortunately, Riccolia saved the day.

"Oh, not long, maybe a week or two, if we’re late, it just means we’re having extra fun!" "Okay, when will you leave?" "Tonight, can we?" She nodded. "I guess. Tell me before you go, though." Piel grinned and they ran off. She tuned to Calibre. "Don’t you what to go?" He hesitated, he could tell her and watch his brothers get punished… Then his life would be miserable – "No, I’ll probably go fishing and stuff when I visit them anyway," He answered. She shrugged. "Whatever. Set the table, please?"
